In this week’s Home Care Tip, Dan and Mike talk about home remedies you can make yourself for quick stain removal that don’t contain any harsh chemicals or odors that could affect you and your family. One cleaner you can mix up yourself that is good for getting out pet urine or vomit, is white vinegar and water mixture. Two parts warm water to one part white vinegar, put in a spray bottle, lightly mist the spot and then blot the area, do not rub. When stains are more difficult and a professional is needed, but you still want to stay “green” ServiceMaster has a whole line of green friendly products to keep you and your family safe. Products that are VOC free (Volatile Organic Compounds) Some symptoms associated with exposure to VOCs include conjunctival irritation, nose and throat discomfort, headache, allergic skin reaction, dyspnea, declines in serum cholinesterase levels, nausea, emesis, epistaxis, fatigue, dizziness.
