Removing carpet odour
How hard this will be really depends on the type of over and just how bad smell is stop if you’re confronted with those that have been there for a very long time you may want to consider handing this job across to a professional. It just really depends on how strong your “opponent”is.
1. If this is recent problem you may want to give your carpet thorough vacuum and see what difference that makes. If your pets are familiar visitors in your home use those tools that come with your vacuum cleaner to remove any traces of pet hair as well. This may make quite a difference depending of course on the type of pet or pets you have.
2. Open the windows and door. A good airing out can do wonders when you’re home is closed shut most of the time. Working families are only at home for a small percentage of the time. If after a few hours your home begins to lose those offensive odours and once the house begins to feel with people they may not even notice.
3. One of the oldest home remedies is a good old baking soda that famous odour eater. Spread it over your carpet especially on those areas where little accidents have occurred. Now take a house room and work the powder into the carpet. You should do this three days before your event leaving it for at least two days. You will need quite a bit of baking soda as your carpet will look as if it has a light sprinkling of snow. On the third day sweep up the surface layer of your remaining snow then use a vacuum cleaner to remove the rest. Now give it the sniff test.
4. The next is something we do not highly recommend that is hydrogen peroxide. It depends largely on the colour of your carpet and should never be applied to dark fibres. If you are game to try you can place a small amount on dry rag and lightly swipe across any problem areas. Again we emphasise this is NOT RECOMMENDED. Consult a carpet cleaning technician before you attempt to try this.
In fact we recommend you call us for advice. We are equipped for removing carpet odour anywhere on the Central Coast, Sydney, Newcastle and Hunter regions.
