Using Borax as a carpet cleaner

I tried cleaning honey out of the carpet 3 times with my Bissell Steam Vac. After an ant invasion I realized there was still some honey deep in the carpet and possibly through the backing. I treated the area with borax and now it’s finally clean. No more dirt sticking to the area at all. Now on to the ants….
