You also want to make sure that you are able to make it last as long as you can before you have to replace it. To do this can be hard, especially if you have children, animals, or the carpet is in a high traffic area. Leaving your carpet dirty not only takes away from the beauty of the room but can start to mold, be home to fleas and other microscopic bugs, stink, and become full of allergens. It only makes sense that in order to keep your carpet looking clean, allergen free, and new looking you need to prevent any unnecessary dirt from getting on the carpet and building up along with preventing spills that can cause unsightly stains. When purchasing new carpet write down the material that your carpet is made from because there are different methods and products to use for each type of carpet material because using the wrong cleaning product could cause damage to the carpet. You should also try to vacuum your carpet every day or two days. If you spill something on it like popcorn, cookie crumbs, chips, or anything not wet you should vacuum it up immediately to prevent it from getting grounded into the carpet.
