How Often to Clean Your Carpets and Why

In this week’s Home Care Tip, Dan and Mike talk about how often you should clean your carpets, and if home steam cleaners can do the job. Mike recommends that home units are great for a in between cleaning to keep premature wear from happening to your carpets. However, it can be time consuming, and you need to make sure you rinse your carpet well with clean water. Dan and Mike also discuss how soon new carpet should be cleaned. Every carpet come with a warranty, so be sure to check to see how soon, some might say 12 months, 18 months or every year to keep your carpets looking great.

Carpet Cleaning The Easy Way With The Oreck Orbiter!
This video demonstrates how simple and fast dirty carpets can be cleaned with the Oreck Orbiter. While traditional carpet washers are great options, they usually only clean carpet. The Orbiter can clean carpet as good as any extractor, and do it with far less water, but it also cleans hardfloor surfaces as well!

This carpet was cleaned with the Oreck Orbiter, and the Oreck Carpet Bonnet (links below). For a detergent, Tide laundry detergent was used as a pre-spray ( one cap to two gallons water in a pump up sprayer). The carpet bonnet is soaked in water and wrung out for use.
