How To Remove and Clean Liquids from Patchwork Cowhide Rugs
We often get asked the eternal question, which is one of people’s biggest fears when it comes to rugs:
“What should I do if I spill something on my rug?”
Simple and easy, no need to worry!
First of all, don’t be fooled by videos showing how to clean your cowhide rug by getting it completely and absolutely soaking wet!! :s
Still, as I was saying, it’s really simple and easy:
You can vacuum the liquids to get everything out and then wipe your leather area rug’s hair smoothly in the direction of the hair with a paper towel or simple cloth to dry it off faster.
Do not soak the cowhide.
DO NOT wash in a washing machine or dry clean.
For common spills like coffee, tea, juice, wine or food: soak up liquid spills with a vacuum machine, paper towel or cloth, removing any solid matter beforehand by scraping gently in the direction of the hair with a flat object. Afterwards wipe the cowhide hair with a damp cloth, eithr dry or using a solution of mild soap and water.
Your rug is amazingly durable, so don’t be afraid of living it in. Kids can play on the rug and toys won’t ruin it.
You can eat and have common food spills on your rug, and it will be very easy to clean.
