Remember that without the use of specialized equipment as shown in the video you are only SURFACE cleaning. For the best oriental rug cleaning job it is always ideal to sent it to a professional oriental rug cleaner.
Step 1: Place Oriental Rug on warm, dry concrete facing down. Vacuum the back of the rug very slowly whereby dislodging sand, dirt and dust from deep within the rugs pile.
Step 2: Place Rug facing up and repeat step 1.
Step 3: Use a rug doctor and cold water clean the back and front of rug and set the pile in the proper direction to dry using large fans. A warm dry day is a must.
Step 4: Soak your oriental rug with cold water thoroughly and then use woolite detergent and soap back and front of rug along with very thorough garden hose rinsing, followed by several scrapping in between rinsing.
Step 5: Lastly you need to extract all the water with a wet vac and hang your rug on a fence to dry. After your rug is dry you will also need to warm water rinse your fringes again and let them dry.
Remember to follow all cleaning with brushing, vacuuming the pile and trimming your fringes tips.
